Subject: SEARCH ENGINE MYTHS
This is a huge subject to be talking about in a blog….but I have just a quick statement. Here it is , nice and simple. Forget about it. Everyone want to be up on the top of the search engines and you are competing with millions of other companies that sell widgets. Just submit your site to the engines and directories, do your linkshare , focus in on specific keywords and hope for the best. For more information about the myths and mysteries of search engine advertising, just call me.

Subject: TESTIMONIAL MYTHS
Have you ever wondered if the testimonials on websites are real? This is a good question. Any company could just write something up and post it as a testimonial. It is a question that could never really be answered. You could call the company and ask about them but what good would that really do? If you have to call up a company and ask that question, then you have probably already got your answer. You could probably call the actual client that wrote the testimonial but the phone numbers are not going to be listed because that particular client probably does not want to be bothered. Just search the web and look for any problems that the company may have had in the past , search the bbb and make up your own mind.
Usually your gut instinct is right. So my humble opinion is just ignore the testimonials. Problem is that all companies on the web have to post them. I could be wrong?

Subject: DOMAIN NAMES
Probably by now, you have already purchased your domain name for your business. But just because you already have one does not mean it is the right one for you. Choosing a proper name for your business on the web is probably the most important decision and will affect your bottom line. It has to be easy to remember. Some people that walk thru my door tell me their names and I just want to kill myself when I hear how ridiculous they sound. An example of a poor name would be something like this: www.ajh-productions.com . now that is just an example of poor planning. What you think might be ok for you does not mean that it is ok for the public. When I chose dynamitesites about 10 years ago, it sounded just fine for me but I have to tell you that it was a big mistake because people can not spell the word “dynamitesites” and some people think that I am a demolition company.
Over the years I have grown to love my company’s name and am now very proud but was it the right choice? NO……A domain name should not only be easy to remember but also easy to spell. Over the past ten years I have been a domain broker and I have learned quite a bit. This should be something to look out for and you should call me before making your final decision. Basically , just because you may have purchased your name(s), does not mean that you are stuck to them.

Subject: WATCH OUT – DON’T GET BIT
This is going to be a short blog for ya. Be careful before choosing a web designer to put your business on the web. I have heard too many horror stories and if just one person reads this and listens to what I say, I will be happy that I saved you from a big mistake. Just call me first and let me know what you are planning to do first. Don’t worry, I won’t try to sell you. I truly care and I want your experience to be a good one. It is a business you are putting together on the web and you need to watch out for your self. Good luck and don’t be afraid to give me a ring.

Subject: MAKE IT EASY- TAKE IT EASY
This is one of many blogs I will post to let potential clients read to help better prepare themselves for “starting their website”. Since these blogs are going to be very frequent, you will have to excuse any typo’s , fragmented sentences, etc… I will publish these blogs in a “as is” format. Thanks a bunch…
Moving on, I have found that many clients that walk thru my door are pretty much in the dark as far as how to prepare for a website bid and also the website itself. During our initial interview process, we will go over what is expected of a client before dynamitesites can give a bid. You are going to need your content (text) and also any photos that you are wanting to put on your site. The photos are preferred in a .jpeg format and the content is preferred in a Microsoft word document. All these steps will be discussed in our initial meeting but when you walk into my office, you will at least have a “jump” on things. If you don’t have anything, don’t worry…..we will try our best to give you some type of figure. I often get asked the question, “how much for a website”???? Well, I gotta tell you that it is much easier if you have something in mind to let me know what we are dealing with. If all else fails, ask me the question anyway and I will go over it with you. We try to make things easy for you but it will take a bit of your time to start your business on the web.
